The Palace Central Heater
ASL's latest innovation is the Palace Central Heater, or PCH for short. With a wide temperature range, this MET-certified heater will keep your animal companions warm and comfortable year-round!
The Palace Central Heater will keep this friend warm in the winter. |
We are excited to finally officially introduce you to the Palace Central Heater!
The PCH is designed exclusively for the Dog Palace and the CRB Palace. The PCH comes with two mounting brackets that latch perfectly onto the triangular window frame of each house. It is too big to fit on the DP Hunter, but ASL's Floor Heater fits the DP Hunter just fine. And unlike the floor heater, the PCH heats the whole house.
The PCH features a digital thermostat and a remote control to alter the temperature from a distance in 5 degree increments. The temperature range is a cozy 50-70 degrees Fahrenheit. We recommend going no higher than 65-70 degrees depending on your dog's coat. Fluffy dogs are going to retain heat better than shorthair dogs, so 70 degrees Fahrenheit might be a bit much for your fluffiest pals.
If you're concerned about knowing the inside temperature of the dog house, you needn't worry it's easy to check with the digital temperature display visible from the window of the dog house.
The PCH will keep your outdoor animal companions warm for many cold days to come! |
Installing the Palace Central Heater is simple! Below are the written instructions for the heater. If you'd prefer video instruction, you can visit the product page here for installation instructions for the CRB and the Dog Palace.
1. Remove the window and thumbscrew from the rear panel of your dog house (if the window is currently in use), and move to the storage position. The storage position is right under the regular window in the triangular slot imprinted on the back of your dog house.
2. Attach the mounting brackets to the top of the central heating unit with a screwdriver.
3. From the inside of the house, hang the heating unit from the window frame with the cord positioned through the window on the left side.
The triangular bracket matches the triangles found on the window and the door to the DP: functional and aesthetically pleasing. |
4. From the outside of the house, attach the metal triangular window fixture, with the printed side out, to the window frame center beam with the thumbscrew (where the window was originally installed). Make sure the mounting brackets and cord are aligned in their appropriate slots.
5. Plug the heater cord into a properly grounded GFCI outlet or protected circuit (for electrical safety). Make sure that the red switch on the heater is on and lit up. Additionally, ensure that any extension cords you use are less than 100 feet in length and at least 16 gauge, for safety and ideal functionality.
6. Remove the plastic tab from the battery slot on your remote (placed there to protect the battery and circuitry from damage during shipping and handling). Press the power button on the remote whilst aiming it at the heater.

7. Press the temp-set button until the temp-set display on the heater flashes. That means it's ready to be adjusted. Use the up and down buttons on the remote to adjust to the desired temperature setting between 50-70 degrees Fahrenheit.
8. Finally, press the temp-set button again to stop flashing and exit the adjustment mode. Use the on/off button on the remote to turn the heater on/off when desired.
Note: The thermostat can be used from up to 3 meters (9.84 feet) away from the heater with no obstacles in the way.

If you're wondering about the safety of the Palace Central Heater, look no further. The PCH is MET certified! In case you don't know what that means, MET is a testing lab where the safety of products gets approved and they make sure electrical products meet regulations. MET is a nationally recognized testing laboratory.
The PCH comes with a one-year warranty if it is used for its intended purpose (heating exclusively the Dog Palace and/or the CRB Palace).

Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I buy your heater and use it on a different brand of dog house?
The PCH is designed for the specifications of our insulation and the size of our products, so we do not recommend using it with other brands of dog houses. The warranty also does not cover such usage.
What do I do if the power goes out?
If the power goes out, you'll have to reset the thermostat with the remote--just like you have to reset your oven or microwave clock when the power goes out.
Why is the fan always on?
It's normal for the fan to be on it should always be on, so it's able to sample the room temperature to make sure your pets have a warm place to stay. The heating element goes on when it detects that the temperature has dropped five degrees below the preset temperature, and shuts off again when it detects that the desired temperature has been reached.
Do I have to adjust the heater if there are a few warm days in the winter?
That's the beauty of having a thermostat you don't have to make any adjustments when there are spots of warmth in winter. The thermostat will detect the temperature, and if it doesn't need to run to keep the house warm that day, the heating element just won't kick on. It's still a good idea to unplug the heater and take it off the house for the warm season, but in the cold season you don't have to worry about the occasional warm day.
Does the remote come with a battery?
Yes, it does.
